Bozeman Schools Foundation

Foundant’s software has transformed an overwhelming process into an easy to manage, time efficient grant program at the Bozeman Schools Foundation. Applicants have a simpler submission process, the executive director is able to focus on strategic issues, and the board of directors is more actively involved in application review while contributing fewer hours of their volunteer time.

Pain Points

Prior to Foundant, the school principal would announce the grant cycle and send a grant application via email to all members of the school system. Applicants followed a cumbersome process of filling out, printing, and mailing the grant application forms to the foundation. Upon receiving the applications, the executive director copied them all and created review packets for the fifteen members of her board and review committees. The process was labor and paper intensive; as well as prone to mistakes and inconsistencies because of manual processes. content here

Solution

Implementing Foundant software helped create a faster process and make faster, better informed decisions. The elimination of paper made for an easier and more environmentally sound process. The simplified access to information and solid evaluation criteria meant processes could be streamlined and standardized. The evaluation team is more engaged, which leads to more accountability and ownership. Finally, being able to archive and analyze data helps create graphical views of historical data that can be leveraged for strategic planning.
