Connecting Tomorrow's Leaders: Advance Your DEI Work Through Board Diversity

For your convenience, you can download the webinar slides here.

Through carefully curated programs and partnerships, The Gifford Foundation has created a mechanism to bring board development and community engagement full circle. On the individual level, their Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders (NTL) program trains participants to be effective board members and connects them with nonprofits with open board seats. On the agency level, they organize and sponsor board development workshops that teach existing governance committees how to support and welcome new voices, recognize and overcome oppressive group dynamics, and build DEI work into their strategic planning. Finally, on the grantmaking level, they have refined their application process to more accurately assess whether grantees have inclusive leadership that is representative of the communities they serve.
