Pain Points
The most graphic challenge we were facing were the Excel Spreadsheets we were creating to do our revenue share. They were yards long and would cover our boardroom table when they were spread-out. These were onerous things that created all sorts of problems and opportunities for human error. We also have very complex bookkeeping systems. There's a lot of intricacies in the way we chart our funds and accounts. We have matching fund programs that have lasted for a few years and then ceased, we have two pools of investments that complicate things, we maintain inventories of our investment portfolios, in terms of various currencies. So, there were all kinds of tricky things we needed to find a system to take over.
Making the Change
Any transition to new technology can be very complicated and take time and patience, it's a real acquaintanceship with a whole new system. Our transition has been a great learning curve in terms of acquainting ourselves with the potentials of Foundant. It’s encouraged us to think about the systems we were using previously. We've come up with a lot of means to streamline and simplify what we were doing prior. That has been a great advantage for us and we see new efficiencies and a much easier system to work with.
The transition has been a lot of hand holding with the support team at Foundant who I can't say enough about... they're so supportive and our team here at my office always feels very much supported and listened to. We feel that all our little idiosyncrasies are really being accommodated within Foundant as well
