Karen Graham | Chief Advancement Officer, Tech Impact

About the Author

Karen Graham is a sought-after speaker, trainer, writer, and consultant with expertise in technology leadership and innovation, nonprofit software, and digital strategy. She is the Chief Advancement Officer at Tech Impact, a nonprofit that leverages technology for social impact, and the home of the Nonprofit Technology Learning Center. Her experience includes leadership roles in capacity building, arts, and human service organizations as well as a software startup. She holds an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the University of St. Thomas. As Chief Advancement Officer, Karen leads Tech Impact’s efforts around fundraising, communications, marketing, events, and social impact. Since joining Tech Impact in 2018 through a merger with Idealware, where she was Executive Director, Karen built the Technology Learning Center, secured significant new funding for Tech Impact’s capacity building work, and was instrumental in developing Tech Impact’s marketing, DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion), and impact measurement strategies. In addition to fundraising and marketing expertise, Karen maintains a comprehensive understanding of digital maturity, technology innovation, technology strategy, and change management. She has advised organizations like TechSoup, League of Conservation Voters, Opportunity Partners, and MACC Alliance on these topics. During her 21 years in the nonprofit sector, she has presented over 100 webinars, workshops, and conference sessions for nonprofits, including a keynote address at Sektor 3.0 (Europe’s social sector technology conference), and she was a featured speaker at events hosted by NTEN, Candid, Blackbaud, Salesforce, Technology Association of Grantmakers, and many others. As a volunteer, she has led two successful capital campaigns, chaired local nonprofit boards, and led vigils, clothing drives, and gala events. Her current volunteer activities center around racial justice and youth performing arts. Karen is proud to work at Tech Impact because individuals use our programs to move toward prosperity and to make their nonprofit organizations more effective. She loves seeing the spark of curiosity and confidence in learners, and helping folks experience the joy of giving.
