Kristen Beall Watson | President & CEO, Kern Community Foundation
Kristen is President and CEO of Kern Community Foundation – an organization committed to Growing Community. Growing Philanthropy. Originally from Southern California, Kristen proudly calls Kern County her home and has spent more than 35 years developing leadership experience in a unique combination of public and private accounting, education, and philanthropy.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, a master’s degree in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA.

Chris Staib | CEO & Enterprise Business Agility Coach, Agile Slopes
Chris is the founder and CEO of Agile Slopes. He has spent the last 15+ years guiding organizational transformation to business agility, while strengthening people and teams by influencing mindset and shaping team thought models.

He is passionate about people. He enjoys helping them to visualize and accomplish growth and improvement. When an individual is lifted the team and the organization is lifted.

Chris grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and home is now Salt Lake City, Utah. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family and continuously learning, improving, and growing.

Randy Martin | Founder, Community Services, Inc.
Randy  is a “hope addict.” He is the founder and Chief Encouragement Officer (CEO) at Covenant Community Services, Inc. (Covenant) in Bakersfield, California. Covenant’s mission is “restoring lives and transforming generations for former foster youth.” Randy loves to coach people and help develop their unique potential to find success. He does this daily with his team, his family and friends, and former foster youth.

As an advocate for foster youth for over 25 years, Randy has worked with the White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives launching the “Fostering Hope” campaign in the State of Oklahoma. He is a speaker at foster care events, a former camp director of 15 years for RFKC (a weeklong camp for foster children between the ages of six and twelve), a nonprofit consultant, a national trainer for Royal Family Kids Camps (RFKC) helping to launch over thirty camps, a member of the Kern County Workforce Development Board, and TacoMan at cycling and adventure events. In 2010, Randy launched Covenant Coffee, a roasting facility and coffee house to mentor, train and employ foster youth.

About the Author

In her time with Foundant (since 2011) Sammie Holzwarth has taken on many roles in her path to becoming the Product Manager of Grants & Scholarships. Starting as an intern with Foundant’s Marketing Team, Sammie then moved into a Client Success Manager role - successfully implementing well over 150 clients. Her Foundant adventure next took her to the Sales Team as Foundant’s GLM/SLM Product Implementation Engineer. Her breadth of knowledge and extensive experience working with a plethora of clients and in varying roles at Foundant fuels her passion and excitement to continually improve GLM/SLM, and herself which she now brings to her role as the Product Manager for Grants and Scholarships! Sammie has a passion for youth philanthropy and has spearheaded the Youth Giving Project in Bozeman, MT as well as serving as an Exponent Philanthropy Next Gen Fellow for 2016. Montana holds a special place in Sammie’s heart as she is a born and raised Montanan; from rolling plains to mountain tops, this is where she feels most at home and takes every opportunity to soak in the outdoors. When traveling beyond the Big Sky State, Sammie loves anywhere with a vibrant culture, and delicious food.
