Daring Leadership in the Grants Profession (Julie Boll)

Dr. Brené Brown defines a leader as “anyone who holds him or herself responsible or accountable for finding potential in people or processes.“ Effective grant seeking requires skillful leadership, often without the advantage of authority. Grant writers must collaborate both internally and externally to develop competitive grant applications for the organizations they serve.

Listen in for a quick primer on building your courageous leadership muscle with Julie Boll, GPC, GPA Approved trainer, and Certified Dare to Lead facilitator. Julie outlines the four teachable, measurable, and observable skill sets of Daring Leadership and explore how trust is built in organizations, including the tangible behaviors that can either build or erode trust in organizations. Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program. Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership.
